My work is painterly in feel and is rendered in chalk pastel, working in many layers of tone and colour on a painted ground, I draw people in their own environment. It's an opportunity for me to be with my subject and to experience them in their element. My intention is to capture some essence of the people I draw in the moment that I am drawing them. My subjects have ranged in age from four years old to ninety-three.
